Who writes Dadvesting
2 dads, obsessed with family money, with no license between us. Here is who we are, how we make money, and where the line sits.
Who we are
We are 2 dads.
We are not licensed financial advisors. Not certified, not credentialed, not the smartest people working on this.
What we are is obsessed. Family finance became the thing we read about at 11pm instead of sleeping, because a kid showed up and the questions would not wait.
We went and found the answers because we needed them, not because anyone paid us to. That is the whole credential, and we think it is enough.
What we do that the institutions will not
Every bank and brokerage out there publishes the comparison and then buries the answer under hedging so thick you cannot tell what the numbers did.
Refusing to make the call is the thing we exist to not do.
So we show the math. In dollars, with the assumptions written down and the date we checked them, all the way to a number instead of stopping at "it depends".
Then we say plainly what the numbers show. What you do with that, for your family, is your call and we leave it with you.
The line, stated once
We are as certain as we like about what the numbers do. We are silent on what you should do. Those are 2 different sentences and we do not let them blur.
How we make money
The newsletter is free. It stays free.
We may earn a referral fee when a reader opens an account or buys a product through a link we recommend.
When that is the case, we say so on the page where it happens. You will not have to go hunting for it in a footer.
Nobody pays to be recommended. There is no sponsorship you can buy your way into, and a fee never changes a recommendation.
If a product we earn nothing on is the better answer, that is the one that gets named.
What we are not
None of this is personalized financial, tax or legal advice.
We do not know your income, your state, your debt or what would keep you up at night. A number that is right for most dads can be wrong for you.
Talk to a professional before you act on any of it.
How to reach us
Reply to any issue. It lands with us and we read every one.
If we got a number wrong, tell us. We fix it, note it at the bottom of the article, and say what changed. The editorial policy spells out exactly how that works.
